BRONX DA IN THE BLOG SEAT

The saga continues on the Room Eight blog. http://www.r8ny.com/.

Did Republican Dissident threaten Bronx GOP officials?
Submitted by Cynical Negro on Thu, 07/17/2008 - 1:46am.
What's the connection between Republican Dissident's posts and the creator of anonymous death threats to Sandow, Savino and/or their children, friends and family?
The threats reported in the Village Voice, while nauseating, seem to have been composed by an unbalanced person. Republican Dissident, on the other hand, seemed to write from the perspective of a Bronx 'insider' with intimate knowledge of the Bronx GOP. What did Republican Dissident have to do with the inarticulate, hateful threats to Sandow and/or Savino?
Without such a connection, it would be very easy to argue that the subpoena for the identity of Republican Dissident was merely a pretext for uncovering his/her identity. To counter this, DA Johnson could simply demonstrate the legal foundation upon which his office relied for the issuance of the subpoenas.
And I also wonder why Republican Dissident voluntarily removed his/her posts?
Fascinating stuff.

And what's the relationship between Savino and DA Johnson?

How is it that Mr. Savino can publicly state the reasons for the issuance of subpoenas from the Bronx DA's Office? Until DA Johnson affirms Savino's claims, they are merely unsubstantiated opinion.
Or perhaps Savino has such a close relationship with DA Johnson that Savino has intimate knowledge of the inner workings of Johnson's office?
Or maybe we're all just political junkies looking for a story where there really isn't any?
Maybe DA Johnson should issue a brief statement concerning this matter, even though he isn't required to do so? DA Johnson should get out in front of this emerging story (as long as legitimate investigations are not compromised) before his reputation is seriously damaged and other governmental entities begin using his name and 'abuse of power' in the same sentence.
